At the Biscayne

At the Biscayne dreams don’t dare enter.

Fear and farce are front and center.

Who knows what crawls in the crevices and walls –

at the Biscayne freedom’s scale is weighted down.

Hope is strangled and promises drown.

Night brings neglect and false respect –

at the Biscayne the future is met with apprehension,

promising nothing now and never addressing

the when at the how.

At the Biscayne.
